Nancy Ann Jones, 79, passed away on Monday July 7, 2025 at Valley Spring Memory Care in Los Banos, California. Nancy Ann Smith was born on September 21, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to Marvin and Maxine Smith. With the conclusion of World War II, the family returned to their home in Tracy, California where Nancy spent her childhood and young adult life. In 1963, she graduated from Tracy High School and moved to Visalia to attend College of the Sequoias. After completing her college courses, Nancy returned to Tracy to begin her accounting/bookkeeping career with Jordan Real Estate. She met her true love, Stump, while he was working in the alfalfa hay business for her grandfather, R.C. Smith. Nancy married Thurman "Stump" Jones on November 21, 1964. Together with Stump and her parents, Marvin and Maxine Smith, she established her family in Los Banos, where she was employed by O Ray Sheets Accountancy Corporation until retirement just a few years ago. Nancy treasured time, spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. rk. She enjoyed Sunday afternoon family gatherings that included delicious home cooked meals followed by a competitive game of dominos or Liverpool rummy. She loved to travel and was a member of the Golden Agers. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thurman "Stump" Jones; father and mother, Marvin and Maxine Smith; sister, Glenda Krugman; brother, Bob Smith. She is survived by her sister, Joy Bakerink (Archie), brother, Ron Smith (Tammy); her children, Julie Arotzarena-Espinoza (Pete) and John Jones (Melinda); grandchildren, Dominique and Jordan Arotzarena, Ryan and Jarrett (Marissa) Jones; great grandchildren, Hero and Atlas Jones as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the dedicated caregivers, including staff members from Valley Spring Memory Care and Bristol Hospice who provided compassionate support and comfort to Nancy during her illness.
