Robert “Bob” Merlin Biertzer, 63, of Brownsville, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Lansing, Iowa. Bob was born on December 7, 1961, to the late Merlin and Shirley (nee Rose) Biertzer in West Bend. He attended West Bend West High School. Bob was employed at Motif in Richfield. Bob enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, grilling and spending time with friends and family. He had many bowling accomplishments such as numerous 300 games and 800 series. He was also in the West Bend Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He enjoyed working outdoors, spending time around campfires and watching action and western films. He had a heart that was larger than life. He was a man of true integrity, he was devoted to helping his friends and family out, usually putting other’s needs before his own. He had a hardy laugh and was full of infectious cheer. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Renee’s children; Craig (Amber) Potrykus, Mitch (Shandell) Potrykus, and her grandchildren; aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Cindy Biertzer, niece Rachel Biertzer and many aunts and uncles. U.S. Cremation Society of Iowa has been entrusted with Bob’s cremation. A Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
