With his family by his side, Roger D. Taylor, 75, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his Plainville home on August 29, 2025. He was born in Dover Hill, Indiana, September 2, 1949, the son of Henry and Della (Chastain) Taylor. He married Connie (Hopkins) Taylor on December 3, 1970, and she survives. After high school, Roger served his county honorably in the United States Army as an engineering technician. He was a Viet Nam veteran. Later, he was employed at the Naval Weapons Support Center (commonly known as Crane) for the next thirty-two years, retiring in 2013. Roger enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of the Veterans Motorcycle Club and the Washington American Legion. Family left to cherish Roger's memory include: his wife, Connie Taylor; sons, Christopher (Angie) Taylor of Bedford and Matthew Scott Taylor of Plainville. Roger was blessed with five grandchildren: Alyssa (Emerson Begman) Taylor of Loogootee; Jason Scott Taylor of Odon; Sierra Rayne Taylor of Bowling Green, Kentucky; Arlie Taylor of Bedford, and Declan Taylor of Bedford.
