ade. In 1965, he purchased a work yard on G Street and opened S.C. Ramirez & Sons Construction. Ramirez & Sons regularly poured concrete for tomato plants, dairies, and ranches. Simon and his crew worked on countless local jobs from pouring subdivision sidewalks to infrastructure projects for the City of Los Banos. Simon's motto was "no job too small" and he demonstrated that by the many residential concrete projects completed for a host of Los Banos homeowners. Simon was an avid San Francisco sports fan and held season tickets to both the 49ers and Giants when they played at Candlestick Park. He and Alice were there for the famous 1989 Battle of the Bay World Series, when Game 3 was upstaged by the Loma Prieta earthquake. Another point of pride was when Simon attended the 1990 49ers vs. Broncos Super Bowl in New Orleans. He was known for giving tickets to friends and acquaintances to attend games, as well as for participating in tailgate events. Simon retired in the late 2010s but remained active, known for his 4AM treadmill runs and driving around in his blue Chevy pickup, as well as watching his favorite Westerns. Simon is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Alice, along with parents Gregorio and Sofia Ramirez, and siblings Nicki Monteiro, Laura Flores, Sylvia Perez, Roland Ramirez, and Norbert Ramirez. He is survived by his loving children: daughter Patti Ramirez of Newman and sons Bobby (Cyndi) and Anthony (Jessica) Ramirez of Los Banos. As well as his grandchildren: Cassie Ramirez of Turlock, Casey White of Modesto, Leauna and Daniel Ramirez of Los Banos, Esteban (Nicole) Hollister of Elk Grove, and Tiffany Ramirez of Los Banos. Simon is additionally survived by his sisters: Beatrice (Joe) Souza and Mary Rockholt of Porterville, and Delores Rabuse of La Quinta. He will also be missed by his 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
