Jacolyn Rae Bollivar

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our sister, Jacolyn Rae Bollivar, on July 20. Born to John and Marge Bollivar on March 4, 1961, Jackie grew up in Prophetstown, Illinois, and graduated from Prophetstown-Lyndon High School in 1979. Following a courageous battle with COPD and recent heart issues, she spent her final weeks at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in West Union, Iowa. Jackie was the last Bollivar girl to wander over to the Hawkeye State. In true fashion, she made the move in May of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. She loved the quiet life she built in Fort Atkinson, Iowa, surrounded by her beloved dogs—first her miniature dachshunds, Buster and Millie, and later her toy poodle, Terrence (aka Big T). Her pups were her absolute world. Jackie brought a fun, spunky energy to life. She was fueled by Diet Mountain Dew, loved nothing more than finding a good bargain, and cherished lunch dates with those she cared about. sely proud of her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marjorie (Betts) Bollivar, and her beloved dogs Pekin, Buster, and Millie. She is survived by her loyal pup Terrence; her sisters, Johnna Bollivar (Mark Ingram) and Jaydeane Bollivar Berns (Mike Johnson); as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and a great-nephew due in December. A private service will be held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Iowa Humane Society, Decorah, Iowa, in honor of Jackie's deep love for her animals.
